Species: Capsicum chinense | Origin: Unknown | Pungency: Hot
Orange Scorpion is a variety that was found growing amongst some Trinidad Scorpion plants in a field somewhere in Europe. The plants are very prolific, and the ribbed, blocky-shaped chillies start light green and ripen to pale orange. Despite being given the name of 'Orange Scorpion', the heat and shape of the chillies bears no resemblance whatsoever to that of the true Trinidad Scorpion, of which an orange variant also exists. Orange Scorpion chillies have an excellent flavour and work very well in salsas, sauces, stews, stir fries and Caribbean and Yucatecan cuisines.
