Species: Capsicum annuum | Origin: USA | Pungency: Hot
NuMex Twilight is a stunningly beautiful
ornamental variety that was developed by Dr. Paul Bosland, Dr. Jamie Iglesias and Dr. Max Gonzalez at the New Mexico State University (NMSU) in 1992. The plants have an upright and fairly compact growth habit with deep green coloured leaves, and the upright growing, conical-shaped chillies start purple and ripen through several shades of yellow and orange before eventually turning bright red. All colour stages of the ripening process are normally visible at the same time, making this beauty a real sight to behold! NuMex Twilight has also become an important source of cucumber mosaic virus (CMV) resistance for chilli plant breeders.
